UCPS Gearing Up for Google Apps for Education

UCPS Technology Services is busy gearing up for students and staff to haveGoogle Apps for Education access to Google Apps for Education beginning this fall. With this roll-out, UCPS becomes the largest North Carolina school system to adopt Google Apps for Education for use with students.

With the success of the 1:1 initiative in 6th grade, and its expantion into the 7th grade this coming school year, Technology Services is working to provide teachers and students access to resources that will promote greater student learning.

Currently, some 190 UCPS staff have been using a "team" site with Google Docs. This site is being transition into a Google Apps for Education site and upgraded to the latest version which will allow access to a greater number of Google tools. This will also allow UCPS Technology Services the ability to manage and monitor this environment.

For current users, please review the two following documents. If you have used your UCPS email address to establish a Google account in the past, the second link will provide directions for you to clear up this conflict so that your UCPS Google account and your personal Google account can remain seperate.
